How do we even do anything about this? They make their own rules and they don't want to give up any money.

I'm a cynic so I doubt anything will be done. Judges have been pretty lenient on residency requirements in other situations, lawmakers won't change laws that don't benefit them, the Legislature doesn't really have rules on this matter and I doubt they will do anything to change them especially with margins so slim, I'd be very shocked if Parker repaid the money. Best bet is an ethics complaint but again it's up to lawmakers to hold themselves accountable, which is not really something that happens.

Kelly Townsend deliberately moved from her residence in Maricopa County to barely over the boundary into Pinal to collect the per deim. She told people she did it on purpose because moving just a few miles East allowed her to bring in over a hundred thousand dollars over four years.

I remember when she moved! I'm disappointed I didn't think to look into per diem at the time. Classic Kelly. Thanks for the note, maybe I'll still do something on this.

Please do! She has been able to get away with way too much!

Townsend did not get near enough exposure for all of the insanity she brought with her QAnon outlandish election fraud claims and terrorizing school boards. She brags even still about how untouchable she is claiming immunity. She brought Trump to Arizona and most people don't know that she has been making the Venezuela rigged voting machine claims since 2009.

She should have been indicted in Kris Mayes's case because she was a key player behind the insanity. However, it appears she was right. She is seemingly untouchable and can get away with anything claiming immunity. It is so disgusting and disturbing.

24K is chicken feed and not many people can afford to run for office and keep employed if working from January to May in the legislature. How about writing about what the pay is for "part-time" legislatures in other same size states.
