Former Arizona AG AWOL in August
I'm still receiving Mark Brnovich's calendars from 2022, August is mostly empty.
It should come as no surprise that Mark Brnovich, Arizona’s now-former attorney general, blurred the lines between being Arizona’s top law enforcement officer and Republican U.S. Senate candidate considering, well, we all witnessed it for nearly two years.
Between the practically permanent spot on Fox News and its affiliates, the copious press releases touting everything Brnovich had done during his two terms as AG and him suing the Biden administration every couple of weeks when he didn’t treat the Trump administration even close to that. (Spoiler: the law isn’t partisan.)
I’ve been requesting elected officials calendars since I launched last August, and finally received Brnovich’s January-July calendars in December, but not the back half of 2022.
I recently received his August calendar and am still waiting on the final four months.
In August, based on his public calendar, it would appear as if Arizona didn’t have an attorney general.
This is what a normal week in August looked like for Brnovich.
He continued his media spots with Fox and others, but official business (that wasn’t canceled like the calendar listing above on Aug 8) was limited to about 4.5 hours and three of those hours are redacted.
12:30 to 1 pm on August 12 (seen above)
Something on Aug. 24 between 2-4pm (redacted)
Something at 10:30-11am and 1:30-2pm on August 30 (both redacted)
Something from 10-10:30am on Aug 31 (redacted)
He did plenty of interviews though. Roughly nine hours worth.

I’m still waiting to find out when he did the 60 Minutes and Jon Stewart interviews. Hopefully the remaining calendars will shed some light on that.
