Brnovich really likes Fox News
I finally got Mark Brnovich's calendars; he spent a lot of time on Fox News... we're all shocked.
I wasn’t sure what would be my final post of 2022 until very last minute when the Arizona attorney general’s office fulfilled a four-month old request this week, but instead of a generic post about someone’s calendar I decided to take a deeper look and make it fun.
Mark Brnovich’s days as attorney general are almost up and since he placed third in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate in the August primary, he won’t be in public office anymore come January.
Like many other offices, I requested monthly calendars for Brnovich and just received January through July of this year (I’m still waiting other months, so hopefully I’ll receive those at some point).
Brnovich’s calendars are pretty simple. He had the occasional meeting, some new member orientations throughout the seven-month period, a lot of “HOLD” listings and even more interviews with national media.
While he did agree to interviews with some local TV stations, and Mike Broomhead on KTAR1 he spent most of these 212 days on Fox News and other Fox affiliated channels, which won’t surprise anybody following Arizona politics, but just how much time is pretty astounding.
For starters, there are 212 days between January 1 and July 31, but the calendars actually begin December 27 adding five days to the total.
Brnovich did 103 interviews with Fox stations. Some of them were in the same day.
That averages out to a Fox interview every 2.1 days.
He interviewed with Sean Hannity 12 times
He also did three interviews with Newsmax and one with Epoch Times, which aren’t legit trusted news sources, but didn’t do any interviews in these seven months with any local print media.
One questions several subscribers asked me is which interview Brnovich did first –– 60 Minutes where he said election denying claims from Republicans were “horse shit,” or the interview where he looked totally embarrassing with Jon Stewart on The Problem with Jon Stewart.
Unfortunately, neither of those interviews were conducted between January and July so we will have to wait for future calendars to find that out.
While I’m sure Brnovich chatted in these interviews about things he’s accomplished as attorney general over eight years (as well as all of his attempts to sue the Biden administration), it’s hard to see most of those happening had he not been running for U.S. Senate. Meaning, at least 70-80% of his government calendar was for political and campaign purposes.
By comparison, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office told me they redacted or didn’t include Rachel Mitchell’s “personal” schedule mostly used for campaign events because it wasn’t her official duties.
I guess that’s just one major difference of how those two offices operated.

As this is my final post of 2022, I wanted to end on one final update regarding the governor’s office not fulfilling a single records request. Only they and the treasurer’s office (out of elected officials) did not return a single record to me since I launched. So I sent Ducey’s Office a reminder of their statutory duties before their administration ends next month.
They shockingly didn’t respond, and to that I say good riddance.
While locally, Brnovich interviewed with ABC15 a few times and Arizona’s Family, he didn’t do any interviews with 12 News. He didn’t do any with Arizona Republic, Arizona Capitol Times, Arizona Daily Star, Arizona Mirror, Axios Phoenix or Arizona Agenda. He interviewed with Broomhead four times, but no other KTAR hosts and nobody from KJZZ.
