Richer shows up
Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer's badge scans shows he goes to the office a lot... he might live there.
Stephen Richer, the Republican Maricopa County Recorder, scans into his office building in Downtown Phoenix way more than I think anybody could have ever imagined.
That’s not even hyperbole.
Richer’s badge scan records turned up 520 pages worth of proof that Richer is at his office practically every single day including the occasional weekend.
I requested his scans from January 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022 and while of course that’s not 520 days, the records show all scans he used while at the office on 3rd Avenue in Phoenix.
Not including weekends and public holidays, the time period covers 415 working days, and purely guessing (since 520 pages worth of scans was more than I cared to comb through) I’d say Richer is probably around 300 days of going to the office building.
Put further into context, here is what Richer’s predecessor and Dem opponent in 2020’s scans looked like:
I should add, I have not verified this information and I’m not usually inclined to believe the source here, but if accurate Richer blows those numbers out of the water.
I previously looked into statewide office holders, and noted how it’s not the best way to measure how much elected officials are doing their jobs, but none of them came anywhere close to the current county recorder.
Despite what the conspiracy theorists say about Richer, he clearly shows up –– literally and figuratively.1

My initial goal was to write less on these posts and put more focus on the documents, so I will keep trying to hold up my end of the bargain. There will be times when I’ll have to write longer to make sense of things, but for now I’ll keep posts succinct.
